Top 5 Tuesday – Top 5 books with crowns

Welcome to this week’s Top 5 Tuesday post. Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, and it is now being hosted at Meeghan reads!! For details of all of the prompts for July to September see Meeghans page here.

For August, we’re back doing scavenger hunts for books with particular themes. I love this as it often reminds me of books that I had completely forgotten about. This week, it’s a royal theme as we’re looking for books with crowns in their title or on the cover. This should be the cue for a few fantasy books and maybe a bit of history.

This series has a gorgeous set of covers all with crowns. It’s been on my TBR for ages and the books are sitting on my shelf upstairs. One day, I will get round to reading the trilogy.

I loved this series and read all the books as soon as they came out. I’m still gutted that he never finished the it but at least I was fairly happy with the ending of the TV series.

I loved this original series about Willow North and the following one The Crown of Tremontane.

The War for the Rose Thrown series is another one that’s on my TBR. He’s now up to book 4 and I haven’t started reading them yet though.

Just for a change, this one is non fiction. It’s the story of Lady Jane Grey who was born and lived only a few miles away. She was Henry VIII’s niece and was put on the throne by her father when Edward VI died. She survived less than a fortnight before Mary arrived to claim her crown.

What would your favourite books with crowns be?
